Solid gameplay mechanics and good amounts of contentĪs previously mentioned, the game makes use of a variety of mini-games to spice up the action, some of which involves 3rd person combat, or real-time strategy skirmishes against the artificial intelligence overlords. Their purpose is to conquer and extend their power, only to get more advanced and intelligent. Hence, a sentient race of battle androids decide to declare war on everything and everyone, including humans and all the other races that are part of the galaxy. The plot is pretty much self-explanatory, although there some twists and turns along the way, again, to keep you interested into what comes next. Moreover, it also makes use of a variety of mechanics and mini-games to maintain the novelty factor intact all throughout the main campaign and the auxiliary game mods, which definitely a neat trick to see in action. Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators tells approximately the same story, although it adds a bit of intrigue and interesting developments along the way to keep you invested in the action.
When the story includes space exploration as well, the robots are almost certain to rebel, especially since they are much better suited to survive on inhospitable planets. As any science-fiction book and movie might tell you, self-aware artificial intelligence will rise against humanity once it is achieved, even if the actual purpose of such a rebellion is never quite clear.
